Welcome to the Bennett Valley! 1830’s

Indian settlers

the original Indian settlers were wiped out by small pox

1850’s

Gold Rush

Gold Rush brought many settlers, including James Bennett, for whom the valley would later be named.

1860’s

Flush with grapes

The valley was flush with grapes and other agricultural products

1890’s

All the vines destroyed

Phylloxera, a virus affecting the rootstocks, destroys all the vines

1970’s

Grape growing

Grape growing starts again

2003

American Viticultural Area

The Bennett Valley is officially declared an American Viticultural Area (AVA)

2006

Founder Emilio Zanin

Founder Emilio Zanin purchases a 5 acre estate renaming it Marina’s Vineyard

2009

2009 Event

Bennett Valley Cellars is born with the release of its inaugural Gold Medal Winning 2008 Vintage 6410 Pinot Noir

2010

2010 Event

Co-Founder Luca Zanin purchases a 40 acre estate renaming it Simpatico Ranch
